A comical tradition that every St. Catharine student looks forward to…the 8th Grade Volleyball Game during Catholic Schools Week. What makes this battle between the girls and the boys of the 8th grade class so amusing are the costumes worn by the 8th graders during the game. While a few of the teachers line judge and underclassmen keep score, Father Dury takes the role of the play-by-play commentator and the student body cheers in full force for their upperclassmen friends. Although hard fought by the girls, this year’s showdown resulted in a victory by the boys in a tie-breaker set. At the end of the day, the class comes together as teammates & classmates, shakes hands, and takes a picture for posterity.
